GUIDELINES FOR THE FLORIST (OR ANYONE ELSE DECORATING)
This form must be returned by one week prior to the wedding, signed by the
Bride or Groom and the Florist/Decorator. Please
make a copy for your records. Without this on file at the church, no decorations will be allowed to be
placed.
Bride: Please make 2 copies- one for the designer to sign
and one for them to keep, so they will remember the rules.
Decorations should not obscure the simple beauty and dignity of the wedding service or
the church sanctuary.
- All church decor must be complete no later than 1 full hour before the
wedding. In the event photos are being taken before the wedding, decor must
be completed by 1.5 hours before the wedding (or by the time the photos
begin.) You are allowed in 2 hours before, if more time is needed, either
you or the bride need to purchase additional time@$30 an hour for the church
and $12.50 an hour for the custodian. This must be arranged no less than 1
month before the wedding.
- Do not move church furnishings. However, the communion table may be moved forward or
back, according to space requirements. The altar candles and stands may be
removed, if desired.
- No tacks, pins, nails, staples, tape or glue may be used to fasten decorations to furniture or walls.
- If candelabra are used, all candelabra must have ample "drip clothes"
underneath them. CPC does not have candelabra for rent. We prefer that
"spring loaded" candles be used, as they drip less (but will still
drip.)
- No flowers are to be placed on or in front of the communion table, the pulpit,
baptismal font, or
lectern.
- All decorations and equipment must be removed shortly after the service and
pictures. (Within the 4 hour total time period, unless extra time has been paid for.) If our Custodian has to
clear the church of decorations other than pew decor which will be thrown away [candelabrum,
etc.], there will be an additional charge of $50, payable in
advance. CPC is not liable for any
equipment left overnight following weddings.
- Smoking is not allowed in the church buildings at any time.
- Please do not bring food or drinks into the sanctuary.
- For safety, no pew candles may be used.
- Any pew decorations should be attached with pew clips, ribbon or rubber bands.
- Aisle clothes are not allowed in Central Presbyterian Church.
- Nothing, no fresh or silk flowers, rice, confetti, birdseed, etc. may be thrown
anywhere inside the building.
- The bridal couple is liable for any damage to the building or furniture done where
decoration is used.
